This is what the Easter bunny brought everyone..Speckles jelly beans, bubbles, fun dip bottles, jump ropes, strawberry soda. bunny / chicky peeps, chocolate bunnies, and cadbury mini eggs. Emilee has walked.

Guess what y'all. Emilee has FINALLY walked at 13 months and 3 days. The funny thing is, Brad spoke to his brother Dan around 5pm ish, and told him that she wouldn't do anything. I mean she would hold on to things, some times stand by herself, but as soon as she realized that she was holding onto anything she would freak and sit down. Later that day everyone was doing their own thing, then suddenly Raelynn starts screaming that Emilee was walking alone. Brad franticaly searched for the camera, by then she woldn't do it wby herself. He spent the next 2 or so hours trying to get her to do it again so I could see it. (It never fails, as soon as I leav to go to work, the kids do some thing special for the first time. I just knew it would happen). Oh, well at least she did. I has been weird for us becuse Braiden walked 5 days before he was 10 months and Raelynn a bit before 11 months. I guess she took a little bit longer since she was a bit earlier than the rest.

Braiden's last day of Kindergarten

On May 21, 2009, Braiden endured his first year of school. School was all day, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (2:30 on Wed). Now he doesn't want to go to 1 st grade because he thinks they don't do anything FUN, they are boring. I have some convincing to do. Any ideas???

What have we been up to?

Hello again. I know it has been a while since the last update, but it has good reasoning.

Well lets see here, aw yes,

1) Theresa now works 2 part-time jobs that equal one full-time job. She leaves to go to work around 1:30 p.m. and returns between the hours of 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

2) Braiden, Raelynn, and Emilee all had broncularitis (RSV). The two older ones didn't get it as bad as Emilee because their immune system was built up. Emilee battled a fever ranging from 102-103 ish for many day before it finally broke (the pediatrician said we didn't need to take her in to the E.R. because she was making movements and not lethargic), still that high of temp is still scary at any age.

3) Kids got better, then sleeping schedule was WAY off, so in turn Theresa didn't get much sleep. Emilee played on the floor while Theresa "tried" to get some sleep. (just an FYI, one cannot get much sleep on a hard floor and with a baby bouncing around you).

4) Emilee redeveloped yet another fever, this time it was ranging from 103 to 104. (it did spike to 105, but was quickly broken). She still had the broncularitis virus, but without the respiratory infection. I have never felt a baby be sooooo hot (body, hand, feet, face, ears, everything). Again, she was moving as if she was fine, but still carried a fever, so I took her in the the after hours clinic on Saturday, and of course, there was nothing to do, but to give her a bunch of Tylenol an Ibuprofen. Amazingly, whatever they gave her at the clinic broke her fever fast.

5) Sleeping pattern is worse. S L O W L Y getting better S L O W L Y. Did I mention it is slowly getting there. :-D

6) Braiden lost a tooth and the permanent one is already growing in. See his blog site to see pictures. He is so proud.

7) Brad will be going to the G.D.C. Convention is California March 24- 27. A group of 14 students from his school, Collin College, will be manning a booth at the convention. Luckily the school will be buying the passes for the participating students. This will open a lot of perspective companies.

8) I almost forgot Emilee is now the proud new, but very annory owner of 5 and counting teeth. She love to chew on everything, especially saltine crackers. Her favorite thing to do right now is to hear her own voice and drool on EVERYTHING.

Well, now you see why I haven't updated for a while, now I can wait a bit longer again to update the blog again. He he he. I hope I will be able to update sooner.

New Calling

I forgot to inform all you wonderful readers of a new event that has happened to Theresa. She/I am now, and have been for about a month now, the teacher of 5 Valiant 9 year old girls. What can I say, it feels and seems odd teaching children that are just about the same height if not already taller than me. I have had comments made that I just blend in with the primary since I am the same height. Ha Ha very funny. That's ok I've heard a lot, maybe all short jokes, but my favorite is "Duck, because I don't have to". I wanted to get a license plate boarder with that saying on it, but never did. One day I will, you just wait and see. Now all I hope for is that my kids will get a portion or all of either my Great grandpa Rowley (dad's grandpa) or my Grandpa Bowerbank (mom's dad) 's height. Only time will tell. Keep your finger crossed. If not, that's ok whatever they is what they get, they will have to make the most out of it.

I saw this petition on Lean Barons blog. She explains that during the time she and her husband lived in the heart of Waikiki, Hawaii, there was a anti-abortion campaign going on and they chose Waikiki as their prime spot to make their point. They would drive a huge box truck along the streets. On the walls of the truck there were huge images of aborted babies bodies. She goes on the say how incredibly disturbing the images were. HOWEVER, she said it did get the point across loud and clear. I do agree with Lena on this issue. Abortion is horrifically wrong! It is not a political issue. It's not democrat or republican. It's not Bush or Obama. It is Right or Wrong!

Abortion is WRONG!

There will be a bill placed before congress in the near future. This bill is called The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). If this bill is passed and then signed by the president, women will have unrestricted access to abortion throughout the country. President Elect Obama has already agreed to sign the bill if it is passed by congress. So it needs to be stopped before it gets that far. There is a petition being created that will be sent to congress. You can find this petition on FightFOCA.com It is very easy to put your name on the petition. I hope you will take a minute to do what you can for this cause.

First Anniversary of Entering Arizona

I have been putting off finishing this post, so act as though you were viewing it back in October. ;-)

October 8, 2008, was the first anniversary of our arrival into the state of Arizona. It has been a tough year. We have had many struggles: NO family or relatives around to relieve us from the children when they were driving us crazy, emotional struggles ( ex..when we need someone to talk with face to face-- I was 8 weeks pregnant when we moved), and not being able to find work for a long while, but we obviously managed. We have had a lot of help from our friends in both wards. We feel blessed to have them in our lives. I feel I should repay them, but I don't know how, a card doesn't seem to do it justice. Anyway, to say these least, the LDS church has come through for us and we really appreciate it. We love looking forward to seeing our families (grandparents, sisters, brothers, cousins, etc...), it's fun to see everyone.

I would like to add to yesterdays entry pertaining to those who are able to keep up with posting even when their lives are hectic. I was thinking last night about this, and there are a couple more people that I can recall, who are amazing with blogging. These wonderful women are: Sandra Westwood and Lena Baron . Sandra has 4 children and is pregnant with # 5, but she somehow manages to pull herself to the computer and write something witty. Lena Baron has a lot on her plate: physical and emotional distress, school, and improving house space. Her entries inspire me. Again, I wonder how she pulls herself to the computer and begins to enter her thoughts for the day.
I felt bad about not including others and I know there are many more, but these gals just stick out in my mind and they make me laugh. They have a lot of things going on, yet they manage. Thanks everyone for your wonderful entries, every entry is great and it gives me ideas on what to write because I am not witty in the least bit.

Way-Long, Overdue Update

Okay, I guess I will somewhat attempt to update my blog. Sorry I haven't been very good about it, but that's what happens when you get a job. I am impressed with my sister in law, Sharane. She has 4 kids: a 7 yr-old, a 5 yr-old, a 23 mo-old, and a 3 mo-old, yet she still manages to somehow update her blog. I guess pictures make the posts look longer. (Maybe that is the key! Who knows?)

Things have been going good. Brad is loving school, because this semester is "the programming semester". The only problem he has is that he already knows how to program, but there are very few others who also know how to program. As a result, he gets asked A LOT of questions, then doesn't get his own work done. Oh, well he seems to manage. He doesn't, however, like his Oral Communications class. His teacher has the assumption that everyone knows how to speak well in front of an audience and are able to write speeches at a moments notice. Umm... Wrong! Why do you think these students are taking these classes, other than the fact that they are required to take them.

The kids are doing great for the most part. Raelynn still has issues with Braiden going to school and leaving her at home. She is annoyed that Emilee can't play with her like Braiden can, she doesn't understand that babies are fragile. As for Braiden, he appears to be loving school, especially recess (who doesn't?) . I was wondering, though, if any one else has this problem. Braiden acts nice as pie in the morning, then goes somewhere, in this situation school, and is well behaved. When he comes home, as soon as he crosses the threshold, he becomes the total opposite, a little terror. His teacher says he is well behaved, always eager to answer questions, helpful, and kind. She, also, says he is above average (in a class of 27- **side note, I wouldn't have the patience to teach 27 kindergartners and having to learn Spanish to top it off. kudos to Ms Hendrix). He was never like this until he started school, I mean Braiden and Raelynn will listen to everyone else except us.

You may be wondering about Emilee, she is now 6 months old. At the moment, her favorite thing is her voice and feet. She loves to screem as loud as she can, and/or chew on her feet. Why is the time when babies discover their feet about the same time their feet start touching the ground? (Either through crawling or wiggling or others mimicking walking) She has been trying to get one of her bottom teeth in, now her top gums are swollen. She is "Miss Drools-a-Lot". She is also attempting to crawl. She pushes her knees under her, then pushes her body up. It is quite funny to see her on the bed where there is a little give in the mattress. She can't really go anywhere, but tries as hard as she can. She squeals with joy as she becomes active, some times it is so loud your eardrums hurt and you wonder if you have some kind of damage. But we love her regardless. We love all our children they way they are. We would like them to act differently, but it is the way they will be at this moment, so we will take it as it is. There is not a dull moment in our house. One minute can be happy, laughing, and fun. The very next, without missing a beat, is the total opposite: screaming, "he hit me", or "she broke my Lego tower", or (this is for Brad) "she puked on me AGAIN, that 3 times in an hour, what gives". He is the human baby puke machine. I can feed and burp her, but after Brad takes her, within minutes, she will give the food right back. She has been trying other solid foods. So far, she likes rice cereal, oatmeal cereal, pears, and CARROTS, but is not too sure about bananas, and sweet potatoes.

Well as you can see we have been surviving AZ, it has been an adventure.

I'm sorry I have tired your eyes out, now you are needing eye drops or a rest, so I better be going to let you get the rest you deserve for reading such a long update. Thanks for reading.

What a borning night

Hello again, I just wanted to share with you all about my experience with the first night on the new job. Everything started out well, the the night manager said now for the fun, but dreaded part of the night. He gave me 3 big stacks of paperwork to read and sign. Holy crap, I now hate reading (well to a point). It took me for ever to get through everything because as I would read the pages nothing made sense, so I re -read them and tried to make sense of all of it (it eventually did). After about 3 hours of reading my eyes were giving me a headache (it was probably due to the lateness of the night), the manager said there was still more fun...on the computer (training), luckily there wasn't enough time to finish everything in one night I'll do it another. There was a staff meeting was held last night, pizza was served. The managers announced that the team I was on had just won some competition, they were give little plastic trophies (they gave me one just because). What a way to start out a new job with trophies and pizza it was great other than all the paperwork-everyone LOVES that...come on I know you do, just admit it. I don't know what to think yet, time will tell. It doesn't matter how crappy the job is at this point, our little family needs all the $$ we can get. Well that's all I can relay at the moment, I'll keep ya posted.

Braiden has Croup again

I it is now 3:00 A. M. and Emilee decided to wake up to eat. I had her almost back to sleep when Braiden starts to whimper because he is cold from the fan (his room is constantly warm) so I change directions of the fan and put him back to sleep. Emilee is again almost back to sleep when, of course Braiden wakes up with a DEEP seal barking cough. Good thing we have a neutralizer & medicine on hand. Some times I have no idea what brings on the croup, I know it is not contagious. The pediatrician says to administer the medication (albuterol) every 3-4 hours for a couple of days and Pulmicourt for the next 6 months as a preventative.

Well, Braiden is a sleep, now for little miss sweet cheeks. I'm gong to go rock her now. The clicking of the keys is keeping her awake.

Great news 4 sure

Hello again,
I have wonderful new 4 sure this time. I received a call from a woman at Wells Fargo, that said I was officially offered the job & if I was still interested I would be starting on Wednesday October 8, yay now I can get some $$, but now I probably will have to wait 3 weeks to get the check (crap), oh well at least I have a job, it's only part time, but at least it is something. Now all I am waiting for is H & R Block to start up.

Braiden & Raelynn's first Primary Program

Sunday September 28, 2008, was the Vineyard Ward's Annual Primary Program held during the Sacrament meeting of church. We think it went rather well for how many children were participating. The last few weeks leading up to the actual program day the primary leaders were stressing to each child the importance of memorizing each individuals parts. If they did, they would receive a special treat. It didn't take long for Braiden and Raelynn to memorize their parts, needless to say, they were very excited to get their treats. So, come Sunday they were confident of themselves and they would remember their parts. The program started out with the Bishop singing, "I am a child of God". He said he was terrified to sing alone, he can sing in a choir, but not by himself, we think he did a pretty good job. The sole was the signal for the children to take their places on the stage. When it came time for Raelynn, she was soooooo excited that she ran across to the stairs, then ran up the stairs and to the podium. From where Brad & I were sitting, in the overflow, you could hear the rummbling of her footsteps. When she reached the podium (where the primary Pres. was sitting to help), she was right in front of the mic and said, "I need a tissue, I need a tissue." Oh my, how embarrassing, the audience had a good laugh out of it. She then finished her part with a little assistance. A sister that was sitting near us said that was a good ice breaker, that is what makes memories. As it came nearer to Braiden's turn I could see him getting either nervous or excited, I couldn't tell, well it didn't matter because he didn't show any signs of either emotion when he stood to say his part. This was Braiden and Raelynn's first primary program they have performed in. We moved to Arizona from our previous ward (Riverbend) in Utah about 3 or so weeks before they held their program. Braiden was sooo bumbed, Raelynn was in nursery still so she didn't care.

We so missed the wonderful brother and sisters from the Riverbend ward, we really felt like we belonged, we now feel the same way with our ward here in the Vineyard ward. They took us in & helped even though we hadn't officially moved into the ward boundaries yet. We had a baby & moved on the same day, I am not joking ask Brad's oldest brother Dan, he was there. Dan's wife Sharane sent him to help us pack up the house since I couldn't do much (I was due in 3 weeks), well as you can see that came earlier than expected, oh well everything worked out.

I guess I will let your eyes rest for a while.

Good News

Sorry it's been a bit since our last entry, we've been busy and our lives aren't that eventful.

First of all, GREAT news (well kind of), Theresa go hired at Wells Fargo bank, but I have no start date, they said they are waiting for things to settle down between the others they just hired and orientation, then they will find a trainer and let me know when to come. (I confused- do I have a job or not). I need the check NOW, Theresa is also waiting on a response on when H & R Block is starting, so basically we are still in the same situation as before "Scrambling". So with that said, Brad does not have school for the next week so he will ask a friend in our ward that owns a landscaping business if he needs any help, if not he will probably do some kind of "Day Labor" work to bring in some kind of $$. Well keep ya posted.

GIRLS GOT SHOTS

Today was Raelynn and Emilee's check up.

Raelynn is doing great, she is in the 50 percentile for height(??) and weight (34 lbs) for her age. She did not want an shots, (just like any other child), the nurse we saw at first could not hold her down, so we had a stronger nurse come in to help. She laid Raelynn down on her back with her legs dangling over the edge and had me lay across her holding her hands, then the nurse jabbed the needles in her legs. Holy crap, I have no hearing anymore, I don't think I have ever hear her scream that loud before. She was OK after we went out to the car & I mentioned "Ice Cream", isn't that the cure all medicine for kids.

Emilee is doing great as well, she is a lot bigger than we thought. She is 14.7 lbs (75 percentile) and 25 1/4 inches long (95 percentile). I had mentioned to Brad that her 3-6 month old clothes were too tight, I could barley snap them up and even if I could they would come off her shoulders, now we know why. We're glad that some one in our family will have some height. She is such a pig when it comes to eating, she eats as if she never did. Raelynn on the other hand won't eat -typical for the age.

Any ways now we wait to see if they get sick, gosh I hope not I hate getting sick, I have gotten enough of spit up from Emilee. We had to switch to Simliac soy formula due to spit up and fussiness (that only gave her more), doc gave her liquid Zantac to help (that made her spit up even more than before), they're not the ones who have to clean up the aftermath (thank goodness for carpet steam cleaners), so we took a leap of hope and tried Nestle Good Start with supreme Soy proteins- it helps with easier digestion. Yay it worked, she no longer spits up to extent that she did. It's weird that one thing works for one baby and doesn't for another. Everyone is different. I had complications with nursing so that is why I needed to use formula.

Spore, what can I say, what an addicting game. Darin and Sheila asked brad if he had gotten the new game "Spore", but at the time he hadn't, so Sheila told him that she would get it for his belated birthday present. He thought she was joking, but she wasn't. He was soooo excited that he isn't sure if he thanked her, either way, "Thank You Sheila". Today Brad helped Braiden and Raelynn make their own characters. They each played for about 1 hour a piece. They had a blast. Now instead of wanting to play video games, now Braiden wants to play Spore. The game looks very intriguing. Maybe I might even play and I am so not a gamer.

6th Wedding Anniversary

Today is our 6th anniversary, but we can't do anything special (we are a poor college family due to Brad up rooting everyone to scorching hot Arizona j/k ;-). We were able to have my visiting teacher play with Raelynn for a couple of hours, while we spent the day cleaning our house. You can FINALLY see our living room and fireplace, (what ? we have a fireplace j/k), now we can put down our new rug. It has only taken us 4 month Hey, we have an excuse, we had a baby and moved in the same day (Brad was not a happy camper). I can't believe it's been 6 years already, time does fly.

Most of my family knows that I came to Arizona to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Video Game Design. I've completed 4 full terms in my school career: one third of the way to graduation. So far, I'm earning amazing grades in some very difficult courses. A few of the courses I've completed are: Drawing & Design, Game Design, Photoshop, Game Development, Storytelling, Programming Logic, and Audio For Games. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.93 W00t! :-D

The experience has been very up-and-down. One term will be perfect in relation to homework and classwork, and others will be pure HELL. For example: my Audio and Photoshop courses were fairly light on the homework, but my Storytelling and Game Development courses required several hundred pages of typed words :'( Each course was NOT for the feint-of-heart.

Now I've begun the term I've been waiting for: Programming. I have quite a lot of experience in several programming languages, so it's no surprise when I say I'm excited. I love programming computers. Programming video games is the true reason I majored in Video Game Design.

I wish you luck in all of your endeavors, and hope a little of that will rub off on me. ;-)

Crazy Arizona Weather!

Holy Crap! It's all I can think to say about one of the craziest rainstorms I've ever seen. I live in Arizona, so rain is very scarce. When it does rain, it is always a down-pour, but it doesn't really last very long. The storm I saw happened on 8/28/2008; my birthday :-). There was very little thunder, but the lightning seemed to flash several times every second. Don't believe me? Let the video clarify my astonishment :-o

I couldn't upload my video, but this is the best one I found on YouTube :-D There is constant thunder in the background, but where I saw this storm, the thunder was barely audible.
